Offboarding & Termination

Termination Process

The termination process in Turkey varies on the mutual agreement between the employee and employer. Both parties can terminate the employment at any point in time. However, the terminating party has to provide a notice for the end of employment.

Notice Period

The notice period is dependent based on the length of the employment:

Severance Pay

According to Turkish Labor law, if an individual has completed one year of employment and is dismissed without notice, then the employee will be entitled to severance pay. The severance pay is calculated based on the monthly wage multiplied by the number of years of service completed.

Visa and Immigration

Foreigners are authorized to move and work with a Turkish Work Visa. They will be required to secure both a work visa and work permit, except for nationals from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The process for the Visa usually takes 1 to 3 months. Applicants have to submit all the documents physically at the Turkish embassy.
